Perfect? Success? Huh? 🙃
Have you ever stood by a riverbank and simply watched the water flow?
Calm. Steady. Unbothered 🐠
Then — just for fun — tossed in a pebble and watched the ripples spread across the surface?
Would you say the water became imperfect?
Probably not.
Because ripples are part of its nature — a momentary shift before it returns to flow 🌊
So why are we so quick to judge ourselves the moment life tosses a ripple into ours?
Who Said This Is What “Perfect” Looks Like? 🤷♀️🏷️
Many of us were handed a checklist:
✅ Get a car by 28
✅ Buy a house by 30
✅ Start a family soon after
✅ Bonus points for aesthetic Instagram updates 🌆
And if we don’t tick those boxes?
We start to mark ourselves as “behind.”
Or worse — a failure.
But life isn’t a checklist.
It’s a river — constantly shifting, sometimes still, sometimes wild.
When Life Cuts Through You, Flow Anyway 💧
If you slice through water with the sharpest blade, it parts for a second —
Then comes back together and flows on, as if nothing happened.
Life is like that too.
It surprises us.
It shakes our plans.
Sometimes it splits us open.
But still, we move.
Still, we heal.
Still, we flow.
So what if we started telling ourselves:
💡 As long as I’m still walking my path, I’m doing just fine.
💡 As long as I’m still trying, I’m already succeeding.
Let’s Redefine “Perfect” and “Success” 🌱
We’re taught that perfect means never stumbling.
That success means always winning 🏆
That worth is proven through polished results 💯
But what if we let go of all that?
What if perfect is simply showing up — especially when it’s hard?
What if success is choosing to keep going, even when no one else sees it?
✨ Imperfection, met with presence and effort, becomes something whole.
Something real. Something powerful.
🪞Your Turn
What’s your definition of success? Of perfect?
When life doesn’t go as planned, how quickly do you mark yourself as falling short?
Are you judging yourself by your values — or by someone else’s measuring tape?
