The Comfort of Knowing (Or, the Discomfort of Not Knowing) 📖🤔
Why Are We So Eager to Know? 📖🧩
Have you ever found yourself deeply absorbed in a book or drama series?
Even when you take a break, go for a walk, or chat with friends — your mind keeps wandering back:
What happens next?
How does it all unfold?
It’s as if there’s an invisible pull, nudging us to flip to the next chapter or watch just one more episode 🎬
That’s the quiet itch of the unknown.
Why Do We Seek to “Know”? 🧩
We often tell ourselves it’s for growth.
For making better decisions.
To gain more knowledge in life.
But beneath all that, if we’re honest, isn’t it also because not knowing feels… uncomfortable?
There’s an unease that stirs in our chest, a fidget in our minds.
We want to fill in the blanks, close the loops, and settle our curiosity — because it feels safer, a bit more mature, a bit more experienced 🌿
Maybe It’s Not Always Truth-Seeking 😉
Maybe — just maybe — it’s not purely about pursuing truth.
Perhaps it’s about soothing the discomfort.
Like scratching an itch:
Ahhh, the momentary relief feels wonderful.
But we all know what happens next — the itch returns 😉
No matter how much knowledge we accumulate, life’s mysteries stay vast.
If everything in existence were 100%,
We might know 1%,
We’re aware we don’t know another 4%,
But the remaining 95%?
They are things we don’t even know exist 🌌
The itch to know is natural — but the mystery is infinite ♾️
What If We Sat with the Unknown? 🪐 Just a Little Longer?
What if, instead of rushing to understand, we allowed ourselves to pause and simply say:
I wonder where this will lead me to~ 🌈
In the most excited and anticipatory way possible — like a child opening a mystery gift 🎁
Not rushing to understand, not rushing to judge, just immersing ourselves fully in the journey.
Because, here’s something beautiful:
✨ The more unknown we can sit with, the more present we become.
✨ And in presence, life unfolds its limitless possibilities.
Less Control, Less Fear 🎈
And perhaps, just perhaps…
If we can be okay with the unknown, we are softly letting go of control.
And with less control, there is less fear.
Cheers to that 🥂
Beyond the Search 🌌
Here’s a thought to carry with you:
You are not the one seeking.
You are the one observing the seeker.
You are the space in which seeking happens — but you are not the seeker itself.
And the more unknown you can sit with,
the deeper your presence grows.
🌟 Because all possibilities unfold in the Now.
Not in the rushing. Not in the knowing.
But in the open presence of simply being ❤️🔥
Your Turn 🌿
Is there something in your life right now you feel rushed to “figure out”?
What if, today, you simply sit with it — not rushing to resolve it, but letting it unfold in its own time?
Sometimes, it’s in that open space that life surprises us the most 🌸
